Level: 45 Background and Interests: I’ve always liked to make things, and learning by doing. This means that sometimes I break stuff and have to figure out how to fix what I’ve broken. This has instilled a level of fearlessness that some may find reckless. Are they right? Probably — but I think we learn the most by the mistakes we make. And I always try to remember that no matter how much I know, there’s always more to learn.

About this Space

The purpose of this blog is to exert a measure of control over my digital life and creativity. While social media continues to make it easy for us to broadcast our voices, algorithms have degraded our ability to make connections with each other by reducing real communication into “interactions” (like/share/comment/smash that subscribe button.)

This space is my attempt to get away from all that. It’s a space where my ideas can live and breathe without being crushed under the weight of the social media vacuum. It’s a space where you can get to know me, and – hopefully – I can get to know you. And if no one reads this or thinks it’s interesting? This place is still mine, and I’m not feeding data into a digital meat grinder.

Will I share links to my content on those platforms? Sure. But aside from a few words and a link here and there, 100% of my stuff lives here on this blog and nowhere else on the internet.

You are welcome to comment where I allow it and engage with each other, but this is my house and these are the house rules:

No abuse of any kind including but not limited to:
- Racism
- Sexism
- Phobic content (negativity towards gender, sexual preference, nationality, religion)
- Bullying (name calling, comments on physical appearance, etc.)
No soliciting or “sharing” the work of others without their consent.

Any violation of something specifically outlined above falls under a zero tolerance policy. You will be blocked/banned without hesitation or explanation.

Any other behavior that I feel needs to be addressed will get you what we call in the library world an “education conversation.” This means I’m going to assume positive intent and let you know specifically what behavior wasn’t okay, why it wasn’t okay, and what the consequences will be if you can’t correct that behavior. Repeat conversations of this nature could lead to the same treatment as those that trigger the zero tolerance policy.

Privacy Policy

The long and short of it is this: I don’t store/collect any personal data from anyone who comes to this site. The only thing you give away is what you post in a comment.

This site is built with Eleventy static site generator using css, nunjucks, and javascript. Hand coded by me with lots and lots of trial and error.
